Ink stains can be one of the worst stains to remove from clothes. However, there are many effective and proven ways how to get rid off them.

Steps involved in removing different types of stains
Removing ballpoint pen ink stains
- Wet a sponge and use it to remove the excess ink from the fabric.
- Keep doing this until the sponge can’t absorb any more ink.
- Let the clothes dry, apply hairspray in the fabric and put two paper towels on the stained area, one on the exposed part, the other one in the back.
- Repeat this procedure until the stain is removed.
- Now, pour stain remover into the affected area and rinse it with warm water and let it air-dry.
Removing felt tip ink stains
- Press a paper towel on the stain to remove most of the ink.
- Pour a limited amount of denatured alcohol into the cotton swabs and gently remove the ink from the fabric.
- Wash the fabric in warm water and let it air-dry.
Removing marker ink stains
- Put a paper towel on the exposed part, the other one on the back of the stained area.
- Pour a limited amount of acetone on the stained part of the fabric.
- Use finger nail polish remover to remove the ink from the fabric.
- If the stain still stays, rub ¼ teaspoon of baking soda onto the stain. Alternatively, you can use stain spray or stain sticks to remove the stain.
- Wash the stain and let it air-dry.
- Repeat the process a few times until the stain is removed.
